Kurt Oswald has had a thing about science for most of his life. Having completed his secondary education at a specialist engineering school in Austria, he went on to earn a master’s degree in materials science. He says, “I’ve always loved mathematics and the sciences. Doing an MBA and then moving into consulting has allowed me to nurture my entrepreneurial side as well.”
With a strong background in strategy work, predominantly in the power generation and oil and gas industries, Kurt established Kearney’s leading position in utilities in the Middle East and heads the firm’s Utilities Practice in the region. It’s a dynamic environment. “Many of my clients are very aspirational. They want to become world class and move into leading positions. The energy here is fascinating—and infectious.”
Kurt specializes in strategy, organizational development, large-scale transformation programs, and operational excellence, and he regularly publishes reports and provides media commentary on topics related to the energy industry.
He is also a board member at the firm’s Energy Transition Institute, a nonprofit organization that provides insights about the huge shifts currently happening in the energy value chain as efficiency and sustainability take on greater significance.
