Selected Project Experience

Project Description:
Covid-19 National deployment programme To successfully administer vaccines to the UK population, at a scale and pace never previously attempted, an end-to-end (E2E) Supply Chain and Operating Model had to be designed and deployed without compromising the existing NHS supply chain - one of the most complex set up’s over a very short period of time. The COVID-19 E2E Supply Value Chain is multi-dimensional and bound by regulations designed to ensure product integrity. The design not only had to cater for the procurement and transportation of commodities with specific yet changing and largely unknown requirements, but also had to devise solutions to transport highly fragile products while retaining their chemical makeup, incorporate proper pharmacy oversight, meet complex licence conditions and obtain approval for the entire deployment model before one vial of vaccine could be shipped. In addition, thousands of staff across the landscape had to be educated on the Supply Chain operation with defined responsibilities at each hand off to retain vaccine integrity.
