Bio Summary
Colin began his professional career as a graduate hire at L.E.K. Consulting, a global consulting firm specialising in business strategy and mergers and acquisitions. L.E.K. is one of the leading consultancies in these specialisms, employing c.1,600 professional staff across 21 offices worldwide, and has a reputation for a particularly analytical and quantitative approach to advisory work.
Following several accelerated promotions, Colin was elected to the global partnership (owner-directors) of L.E.K. and served for eight years as a Partner in the London office. In addition to his client work, his partnership responsibilities included MBA-level recruitment, professional development training, and overseeing the IT department, including knowledge management systems and information security.
Colin left L.E.K. to join with former colleagues who were growing the London office of Roland Berger (a much larger consulting firm) and to pursue independent projects.
Over his sixteen-year career at L.E.K., Colin played a key role in the firm’s strategic work, co-leading many of its largest and most complex engagements across all sectors, including the future strategy for the UK’s naval shipbuilding capability, business planning and contracting of the Amsterdam-Brussels-Paris high-speed railway, and revitalising the mining sector in Botswana. Colin developed the firm’s expertise and new approaches in areas including economic analysis, regulation, and financial modelling, valuation and decision modelling. His clients included blue-chip global companies, economic regulators, the governments of Bahrain, Botswana, the Netherlands and the UK, and major investors.
